BACKGROUND: Hundreds of studies are dedicated to the negative effects glaucoma therapy on ocular surface. At same time, state eye surface after successful hypotensive surgery, which resulted in cessation or significant reduction medical therapy, has not been studied.
 AIM: To identify changes surgery.
 MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study group consisted 475 consecutively enrolled patients who were operated during 20162020 Saint Petersburg Multidisciplinary City Hospital No. 2 for primary open-angle unstable glaucoma, and then observed 6 24 months. Trabeculectomy (TE) was used as first procedure (418 patients), re-operation TE (25 patients) Ahmed valve implantation (32 chosen. Using statistical methods, dynamics symptoms (OSDI) signs [tear film break-up time (TBUT) reflex tear production defined by Schirmer I test] depending outcome (complete partial success total failure) analyzed.
